Last year, we traveled to Houston to see what Panther Nation was all about. What we found were some of the nicest facilities in the country—not just for an HBCU, but at the FCS level.
What surprised me even more was learning that Prairie View A&M already had plans to keep improving, including a major upgrade to its weight room, which we’ll take a closer look at in this week’s newsletter.
And at the end, I’ll give you my full facility rankings. Keep in mind, these facility rankings are based largely on how Prairie View compares to other FCS programs, rather than Group of Six or Power Four programs.

At 15,000 seats, Panther Stadium at Blackshear Field isn't one of the largest stadiums in college football, but its modern design and adjoining field house give Prairie View A&M a strong overall football setup. The stadium was also designed with the ability to expand to 30,000 seats.

Final Thoughts
Prairie View A&M has built a football facility that stands out at the HBCU level. It may not have the size or budget of a Power Four program, but for Prairie View, the $60 million investment created one of the most impressive football environments in the FCS.
