This week:

We're heading to Columbia to take a closer look at the Memorial Stadium Centennial Project, a $250 million stadium renovation.

Instead of replacing Memorial Stadium, Mizzou decided to modernize it while keeping the traditions that have defined Faurot Field since it opened in 1926.

Missouri added thousands of premium seats, field-level suites, new clubs, upgraded concessions and restrooms, improved technology, a team store, and new recruiting spaces.

And what do the fans think about this?

Missouri has sold out season tickets for the third consecutive season and enters 2026 riding a program-record streak of 20 straight home sellouts.

So this week, I'm breaking down what Missouri actually got for $250 million — and at the end, I'll grade the renovation across five categories to see how it stacks up against other major facility projects around college football.

By the Numbers

🏟️ Stadium Capacity: Nearly 65,000

💺 Premium Seating: 2,280 new seats

Inside Missouri’s $250M renovation

🏟️ Size & Scope — 3.5/5

At $250 million and 191,100 square feet, this is a major and much-needed renovation.

But compared to the massive stadium projects we're starting to see around college football, Missouri's project is still primarily focused on rebuilding one end zone and upgrading existing spaces.

It's a big project, just not one of the biggest.

🏗️ Quality of Upgrades — 4/5

The project adds 2,280 premium seats, 71 suites, upgraded concessions and restrooms, improved Wi-Fi, new lighting, a team store and year-round event spaces.

Nothing feels unnecessary, and nearly every major part of the game-day experience gets an upgrade.

🎉 Fan Experience — 5/5

This is where the renovation stands out.

There are 14 field-level suites, 140 loge boxes, new clubs and hundreds of additional premium seats.

But regular fans benefit too with better concessions, restrooms, Wi-Fi and other stadium-wide improvements.

Add in 20 straight home sellouts, and this should be one of the better atmospheres in the SEC.

🏈 Recruiting Advantage — 4/5

Missouri is also turning the former Bunker Club into a dedicated recruiting center.

Combine that with a renovated 65,000-seat SEC stadium and a strong home atmosphere, and this absolutely helps recruiting.

💰 Long-Term Investment — 4/5

This is a smart investment, especially because Missouri isn't just spending money — it's creating new ways to make it.

Premium seating, suites and year-round event spaces can generate additional revenue, while the university is also pursuing stadium naming rights.

But $75 million of the project is being financed through debt, and compared with some of the larger stadium investments happening around the SEC, I don't think it's quite a 5.
